A 4-wire generator control system requires a matching 4-wire auto transfer switch when normal power fails, SENTRY-PRO automatically starts and supplies emergency voltage to your selected loads through an the matching automatic transfer switch. When normal power returns, the generator automatically shuts down and transfers the load from the generator power, back to normal power. The total operation is automatic, meaning no operator needs to be present. Following are listed single phase standby generator sets. The designated RATS4-100-1-1 automatic transfer switch must be bought with this power plant as they are a "packaged" unit.

A TYPICAL "ENGINE START" ACTION IS AS FOLLOWS:

A time delay to retransfer, allows return of lost utility power to stabilize before re-transfer of electric load, back to utility power. (adjustable)
A time delay to "engine cool down", allows load to be removed from gen-set, and returns to restored utility power. The engine runs un-loaded for a predetermined cool-down period (adjustable), before complete shutdown.
At any time an engine or generator would mal-function, the entire gen-set system would immediately shut down. The fault must be corrected, the control system must be "Reset" and gen-set is ready to run again.

All air cooled, residential standby sets, at 3600 RPM, have an electric circuitry allowing the functions of:
