DIY Solar Panel Kits
For the past few years diy solar panel kits have become extremely popular. They range in size from simple projects to full home grid tie systems.
The best part is that our customers can choose the kit that best fits their needs.
When we first began to experiment with powering our own home back in 1993, we actually built our own solar panels with an interesting mix of learning to solder solar cells and trying to figure out how to make it all work. Here is the introductory video if you would like to try this option.
This type of diy solar panel kits are by far the least expensive, but do entail the most work on the part of the home owner.
At the other end of the spectrum lies the prebuilt, prepacked, and properly sized kit. There is a tremendous amount of testing that goes on to insure the new system works properly everytime.
The system would normally include:
- detailed instructions to assemble your diy solar panel kits
- high quality solar panels
- best quality and properly sized inverter
- wiring
- charge controller
- battery backup (or enough batteries for an off grid solar installation)
The best part of these latter systems is that an expert in the field of renewable energy and electronics has put together the whole system. It is designed with a single very specific purpose in mind and is developed to be the best and most cost effective solution to that particular purpose.
From off grid cabins to grid-tie homes you can get a solar panel setup that comes in a kit form for your home in just about any price range and certainly a number of levels of difficulty.
If you, or members of your family have a reasonable amount of skill with tools (and let's face it some of us only have a modest amount of skill or patience for this kind of project), then please consider building your own solar panels, you won't regret it.
For those of you who might class yourselves as even slightly tool challenged, then a great bet is the assembled, and much easier to install kits. You will get almost the same cost savings as building solar panels, but without the time and skill involved. Simply a great choice for the vast majority of people.
The choice is yours, but if you are having a hard time deciding what to do, then please feel free to contact us anytime. More than happy to help you choose what is right for your family.
Time is obviously another factor to consider when considering this project. Do you have the time to build the system from scratch? In our busy lives it just makes sense to consider the very real advantages of diy solar panel kits.
